Most vehicles these days come with air conditioning, thankfully. Thinking back before the days of A/C is almost unbearable, especially during these record-high temperatures here in Arizona. Whether in your home or in your car, not having air conditioning can actually be physically harmful. July 3 thru August 15 have been dedicated as Air Conditioning Appreciation Days and rightfully so. We can all relate to sweating out the heat and how good the air conditioning can feel when you really need it. Without it, people can suffer from heat stroke, heat rash, heat edema, heat cramps, dehydration, heat exhaustion, and pure discomfort as a result of prolonged exposure to high temperatures with no relief.

Excessive heat is the culprit for deaths all over the country. Heat waves come and go, but your car’s air conditioning should be here to stay. Over time, it may need some maintenance to run effectively and efficiently, but as with any other service, AC service is offered here at our auto repair shop. By maintaining the system and looking after the parts, you won’t have to worry about driving in a car with the windows down, hot air blowing in your face almost overwhelming you. We recommend this air conditioning service because it will enable proper system refrigerant and lubrication levels to be met, decrease the risk of premature compressor failure, and allows the desired cabin temperature to be achieved. As the driver of your vehicle, you should be able to determine the degree and level of cool that it takes to keep you and your passengers comfortable.

With our AC services, you may be able to avoid costly air conditioning repairs down the road. During an annual inspection of the vehicle, we include the car’s air conditioning system and visually inspect the system pressures, vent temperature, belt tension, and air volume. We recommend this service each year because air conditioning systems may lose 0.3-0.6 ounces of refrigerant yearly.
