A hybrid vehicle is defined as a vehicle that uses both gasoline and electric power to power it down the road. While these types of vehicles save consumers hundreds of dollars every year in gasoline expenses, a hybrid battery replacement is generally a very costly investment. In most cases of hybrid batter repair,  only one or two of the battery cells are bad. Since the battery is not able to function without having all of its cells working, the battery fails. In fact, although the hybrid battery may continue to produce enough power to drive the vehicle it can comprise the consumers fuel efficiency by as much as 10 to 20 miles to the gallon.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of batteries, hybrid battery failure is inevitable. Replacing a hybrid battery  can cost anywhere from $5,000 – $10,000 depending on the vehicle and manufacturer. Once the weak cells have been located, your local auto repair shop is able to remove the bad cells and replace them with good cells. Once the bad cells have been replaced the hybrid battery can be recharged, generally back to 98% of its original quality and performance level.
